South Fork Natural History Museum
Evidence Design was charged with the planning and design of all exhibition and educational facilities for the South Fork Natural History Museum. The design team’s task was to creatively present the exhibit content — the area’s natural history, its glacial origins, natural habitats and wildlife, as well as the interdependence of all life on our planet. Rather than a traditional didactic presentation, the approach here is to invite the visitor to explore and discover nature. The goal is to deliver this content to the visitor in a thought-provoking, innovative, and imaginative manner so that the museum-goer is encouraged to make repeat visits throughout the year.
interact with dynamic large-scale experiments that explore nature’s most powerful phenomena.By doing as well as seeing, visitors will find themselves caught up in the adventure of experimental science and in the imaginative and creative processes of scientists. From planning, concept through development, EVD has partnered with MSI througout the design process and has played a key role in developing an interpretive dialogue that will provide rich, compelling context to these dynamic, visceral experiences.
