On The Boards: Flat Rock Brook Nature Center

Flat Rock Brook Nature Center is a 150-acre preserve and educational center on the western slope of the New Jersey Palisades. To enrich the Center’s outdoor learning program, Evidence Design is creating a new permanent indoor interpretation. “A Walk in the Woods” will examine major aspects of the Flat Rock Brook ecosystem with life-size dioramas, hands-on interactives, video monitors, field guides, touchable specimens and live animals. Using a naturalist’s skills of observing, identifying, and making scientific connections, visitors will learn about the area’s distinct habitats — forest, meadow, pond and stream –  then apply their indoor experience out on Flat Rock Brook’s trails, exploring and appreciating the natural world around them.
