Coney Island Parachute Pavilion Competition

Coney Island is a confluence of bizarre contradictions and combinations. This project is conceived as a parachute landing on a jumpping fish-ship in drydock; a beach blanket wrapped in a boardwalk resting on whale bones stuck in the sand.

interact with dynamic large-scale experiments that explore nature’s most powerful phenomena.By doing as well as seeing, visitors will find themselves caught up in the adventure of experimental science and in the imaginative and creative processes of scientists. From planning, concept through development, EVD has partnered with MSI througout the design process and has played a key role in developing an interpretive dialogue that will provide rich, compelling context to these dynamic, visceral experiences.
